LED Roadway Lighting Ltd Announces Installation in Easthampton, Massachusetts

LED Roadway Lighting Ltd (LRL) is pleased to announce that the City of Easthampton has selected LRL’s Satellite Series fixtures to replace their existing high pressure sodium fixtures. Installation of 469 fixtures is well underway, with Union Street, Main Street and a number of side streets already completed. Easthampton is the first municipality in western Massachusetts to embark on a large-scale LED street light retrofit program.

The installation of 469 fixtures will provide annual savings in energy and maintenance of $36,700, or $734,000 over the 20 year design life of the fixtures. In terms of energy savings, it is expected that the new SAT-24S and SAT-48S fixtures will provide an annual energy savings of 192,000 kWh, or 3,844,000 kWh over the 20 year life of the fixtures.

In addition to the energy and maintenance cost savings, it is expected that the installation will result in a greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction of 2,996 tonnes over the life of the fixtures.

“This is an exciting project for us,” said Jeff Brassard, US Director of Business Development. “We are pleased to be working with a progressive municipality like Easthampton, and congratulate them on leading the move to LED street lighting in western Massachusetts. We are confident that they will be delighted with the results of the installation”.

FST™ Duct Seal is a “closed cell foam” which is superior to “open cell” spray canned foams. The kit contains a two-barrel cartridge filled with a two-part foam base, which is mixed in equal parts as it is pushed through the mixing nozzle. When mixed and injected, the foam expands and hardens, keeping water, acids, greases, gases, insects, and rodents, etc., out of the conduit. The foam has good wetting and adhesion to metals, plastics, and concrete. A separate, reusable ratchet application tool is used to inject the foam.

  • Seal water, dirt, oil, gases, rodents, or other contaminants out of conduit/duct or central office

    • Protect your investment in cable, electronics

    • Deter copper cable thieves

  • Cured foam is strong, resilient and chemically resistant

    • Provides superior protection in adverse field conditions and where cable movement is present

  • Can hold 15 feet water-head pressure over an extended period of time

  • Will tolerate cable movement

  • Kit seals up to (5) 2" (50mm) ducts

    • Saves money over single duct products

  • Foam expands and cures quickly even when water is present

    • Seal ducts quickly and neatly

  • Two-part foam is mixed in nozzle as it is injected -- no mixing required

    • Saves time with no measuring

  • Packages are resealable, no waste

  • Cured foam is semi-permanent and can be removed

    • No known effects on common cable and wire jacketing compounds.
